MOTION is a collection of works by Linda Brooks, which explores the motif of movement. These intensely colored canvases evoke beauty and power as the surge upward and outward, reaching into the surrounding darkness. Brooks' works revel in the elemental and urgent nature of movement. Like fireworks, intense tones leap off the canvas. This quality in her work has been described as "energy without boundaries creating infinite space."
Brooks' works have been shown in many juried, group and solo shows including museum exhibitions. She was awarded first prize in the 31st Annual Exhibit at the Boca Raton Center
for the Arts, juried by Ira Licht, Director of the Lowe Art Museum. Her works are found in domestic, corporate, and international collections. She serves as Vice President and Director of Human Resources for The Durst Organization and is a well-known Human Resources specialist in New York City.
50% of the proceeds from the exhibit will be donated to Citymeals On-Wheels.
