Thirty years ago, a tradition began in a field at Dune Alpin Farm in East Hampton, when a group of local horsemen competed in a single ring before family, friends, and neighbors.
Today, that tradition continues with the Hampton Classic Horse Show...
From August 24th to the 31st, a lush green field on Snake Hollow Road to Bridgehampton is transformed into a tent city filled with more than 70 boutiques, with items such as logo'd Hampton Classic apparel, FENDI handbags, Hermès saddles and accessories, and even hand-carved adult sized rocking horses.
All week, enjoy the world class show-jumping. Among the riders are Team USA's McLain Ward, a member of the 2008 Gold Medal Olympic Show Jumping Team and Canada's Eric Lamaze, winner of the Team Silver Medal and the Individual Gold. The excitement culminates with the $200,000 FTI Grand Prix on Sunday, August 31st, one of the most anticipated sporting and social events of the Hamptons summer season.
