About Gala Event:
For the last seven years, friends and supporters of the Jed Foundation have come together at gala events to celebrate their successes, honor those who are making a significant impact on the mental health of young people, and raise funds for the programs that are reducing emotional distress and preventing suicide among America's 18 million college students. This year's event is more important than ever as the foundation work to protect the emotional health of students facing the added stress of a bad economy and a bleak job market.
This year the Jed Foundation will honor an impressive group of individuals. Honorees include: Sheila Nevins, President of Documentary and Family Programming for HBO, is being honored for the work that she has done to address mental health issues through HBO films and programs. Additionally, Pete Wentz member of the Grammy-nominated band Fall Out Boy, will be honored for sharing his personal experience with mental health problems in the media and through the Half of Us campaign.
The new venue for this year's event, Guastavino's, is an incredible space that will allow the foundation to add an after-party lounge and concert to the evening's festivities with honorary host Brittany Snow. |
